| My trip to SoCal this past weekend was a chill time with good friends, good food, and a whole lotta driving!
Even though Teresa and I never made it west of Pasadena, I'd say that traveling throughout east LA county and parts of Orange* was pretty impressive for two girls from the good ol' Midwest. Our adventure included some of the following:
1. Beating the system at Maggiano's in Costa Mesa
Maggiano's (a la Chicago's Lettuce Entertain You) was a last minute dinner decision. The place was packed so we ordered out and took our food next door to The Corner Bakery. Good times were had and silverware, napkins, and water (with lemon) were plentiful!
I mean, it didn't seem like anyone noticed... Crazy delicious! 2. Crashing Rowland Heights and Diamond Bar. Taiwanese shaved ice, noodles, hot pot, and other desserts brought out the fobs in us.

3. Swinging by Newport Beach just in time to catch a beautiful sunset. Not to be a sap, but ocean views are breathtaking.

4. Lastly, watching the season premiere part 1 of 24. Because being in LA made Jack Bauer all the more real.

Fin.

| it's been late nights almost all week. i've gotta stop this insomnia of sorts...before it takes its toll on me. and i'm blaming music.
though
i only discovered Anthony Hamilton last summer, his tracks are some of
the best neo-soul i've listened to in a while. haha - young-hizzle, i
bet you're glad that i'm finally giving a nod to NC beats.
two songs i recommend are:
'Can't Let Go' - Ain't Nobody Worryin'
'Charlene' - Comin' From Where I'm From
i've been trying to get my hands on Nas' Hip Hop Is Dead. is it worth the buy? i'll admit that i haven't bought a cd since Lupe.
anyway, grand plans tomorrow! SF -> the OC + LA.
teresa and i are gonna play it by ear in SoCal for the long weekend,
i.e. we've got no idea what we're gonna be doing. any suggestions?
otherwise, getting lost might be fun.

| Merry Christmas everyone! Thanks to those who asked me questions in my previous entry. Below, you'll find some answers to questions I received. I know some of y'all asked me five questions at once, but to be fair, I've answered one question per comment. Enjoy! Am I a figment of your imagination or my own? To me, you’re pretty real. But it seems that you and your imagination have some things to figure out.
whats up? Currently, I’m lounging around in my family’s living room. John Mayer is playing on the stereo and I’m eating an apple pancake my mom made this morning for breakfast. Yeah, I'm defintely enjoying my time at home.
why u so coo?!? Why u so coo?!? why '9'? 9 is my favorite single digit number. I can’t quite remember why I chose ‘9’ specifically, but I think it has to do with the number 9 showing up in random places of my life: my mom worked on the 9th floor in her building, my locker number was the number 9, I have memories of receiving the number 9 in hat drawings, raffles, the like…9 was always a good number to have around.
Also, 9 isn't as popular as 3, 7, or 8. And isn't as even nor as round as 2, 5, and 6. 9 isn't unlucky like 4…and well, hasn't acccomplished enough to be number 1. 9 is just good ol' 9, really. how are your quiet times with God? Lately, I haven't had too many quiet times with God. However, I do think about God a whole lot and talk to Him more often than I ever expected myself to. Sometimes I’ll have conversations with Him where I am half asleep, and other times when I’m just walking or driving by myself. It seems that God and I communicate the most between dreams and consciousness.
Overall though, having quiet times with God is an area I definitely need to work on…as well as prayer. Thanks for asking.
why am i so good looking? It's because you work with me...and we both work in the sorority, that is AdWords. Are there ever times you wish that sporks were more commonly used than forks? Oh yes! Sporks are a seemingly wonderful blend of the fork and spoon. When I’m lazy, I would definitely prefer to eat with a spork…but sadly, sporks just aren’t as available or as useful as I would like them to be. Also, I tend to use the spork more as a spoon than a fork. I think this is because the spoon feature of the spork overpowers that of the fork.
In addition, have you noticed that sporks seem to be more of a ‘blue collar’ eating utensil? It is often offered in plastic and rarely in silver.
An online source notes, “A spork … tries to function as both spoon and fork, and because of this dual nature, it fails miserably at both. You cannot have soup with a spork, it is far too shallow; you cannot eat meat with a spork, the prongs are too small.”
Sad.
edit: LOOK!! A spork CAN be classy!
am i next in line for an invitation to Google's website optimizer? From what I know, the Google Website Optimizer is only available to certain advertisers by invitation only. You may or may not be next in line for this invitation…and don’t you just love the suspense of waiting? It should be available in early 2007. =D (I think)
when are you going to visit me in San Diego? You’re in San Diego? Yeah, I’ll make my way down to SoCal in due time. Why do pedestrians think speed bumps are pedestrian walkways? A. Because cars conveniently slow down to ‘let them walk.’ B. They believe the bumps create some sort of safeguard or barrier for them walk between C. Pedestrians need to get over themselves D. All of the above
why is the sky blue?
Duh. =) is cali weather really that nice? Californian weather is alright, it’s not perfect nor horrible. Then again, I can only speak for Northern Californian weather. Let’s just say, it’s ‘winter’ now even though it's felt like autumn for months.
I miss snow. Where is it?!
Do you have any questions for me? Can you bring me a bottle of malt wine from Hong Kong? Thanks, baller. who is your boyfriend?? Hmm…who is my boyfriend?? are you coming to Roe tomorrow? It was good seeing you there! Happy Birthday, Navin!
why haven't you talked to me in ages? I talked to you a few days ago, friend. It was good times.
